Sync your Sandglaz tasks to other Calendar products

We are introducing a new feature today that allows you to sync your Sandglaz tasks to Calendars like Apple iCal, Google Calendar, Outlook or any product that supports the iCal format.

The feature is quite simple, first obtain the iCal URL (webcal) of the Grid you would like to sync, and then copy and paste the url into the calendar product you are using.

Obtaining the iCal URL

To obtain an iCal url, click on “Generate iCal URL” from the grid’s Sharing menu. Do not share the resulting url with anyone. Each person the grid is shared with can generate their own unique url. You can reset the url at anytime.

The iCal Feed

Calendar products like Google Calendar and iCal only sync events (and not tasks) to the calendar. For this reason, the Sandglaz iCal feed is designed to export tasks as events. The feed only includes uncompleted tasks with dates.

  • Infinity Grids: Tasks will be synced to match their due date. If they don’t have a due date, they will be synced to the milestone date they are in. Tasks in the ‘Later’ milestone will not be included.
  • Standard Grids: Tasks will be synced to match their due date. Tasks with no due dates will not be included.

Tasks with due dates will have an alarm of 15 minutes before the due date in the feed, though note that not all calendar products sync alarms.
